Abstract: Huangdi Neijing(Huangdi’s Internal Classic) is a medical classic in its own system in early ancient China. Through exploring the shared rules of ancient literatures inheritance, this study investigated the origin and evolution of theories and text styles of Huangdi Neijing. The theories of Huangdi Neijing derived from the medical experience of senior official doctor in Zhou Dynasty. In a long course of history, Huangdi Neijing was handed down between generations from ear to ear, mouth to mouth, until the particular written history set in.In the early period, the text was written on the bamboo slips and was distributed chapter by chapter. In Han Dynasty, these scatted chapters were collected and compiled into a medical book. In Tang Dynasty, Wang Bing, a TCM practitioner, reorganized the chapters and finalized the version, which is still available in modern days.
