Hemodynamic changes of ovary and uterus and their influences on reproductive hormones in patients with emmeniopathy (excess cold syndrome)

Abstract: Objective To observe the hemodynamic changes of ovary and uterus in the patients with emmeniopathy (excess cold syndrome), and discuss the pathogenesis of emmeniopathy (excess cold syndrome). Methods The patients were divided into control group and patient group (each n=30). The hemodynamic parameters of ovary and uterus were detected by using color Doppler ultrasound including peak systolic velocity (PSV), resistance index (RI) and pulsatility index (PI). The content of serum progesterone (P), estradiol (E2), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) were detected by using radioimmunoassay (RIA). All data was compared and analyzed. Results In patient group, the hemodynamic signals of ovary and uterus were relative sparse, flow rate was lower, and PSV decreased significantly (P<0.01), RI and PI increased (P<0.01 or P<0.05), and levels of serum FSH, LH and E2 decreased significantly (P<0.01). Conclusion The abnormal hemodynamics of ovary and uterus and blood hypoperfusion are one of pathological bases of emmeniopathy (excess cold syndrome).
