Abstract: Objective To reveal the rules of selection and matching meridians and acupoints for simple obesity on the basis of data mining. Methods All data were collected from literatures in CNKI regarding to acupuncture treatment of simple obesity during the latest 10 years, so as to establish a prescription database for simple obesity. The descriptive analysis, association rules analysis and clustering analysis were conducted by SPSS 17.0 and Clementine 12.0 software. Results The leading three selection of meridians were Stomach meridian, Ren meridian and Spleen meridian, and the leading acupoints were Zhongwan(CV12),Zusanli(ST36),Fenglong(ST40),Sanyinjiao(SP6) and Tianshu(ST25). The association rules analysis showed that Quchi(LI11), Fenglong(ST40), Qihai(CV6) and Zhongwan(CV12) had the highest correlation among all the selected acupoints. The clustering analysis figured out altogether 9 core clustering groups and two kinds of acupoints, comprised of special acupoints which were the most common choice and specific acupoints which were selected by syndrome differentiation. Conclusion The rules of meridians and acupoints selection can guide acupuncture treatment of simple obesity.
