Application of belt vacuum drying technology on production of Lianhua Qingwen capsule

Abstract: Objective In comparation with spray drying technology, to study belt vacuum drying technology on production of Lianhua Qingwen capsule. Methods According to the operating principle of pharmaceutical belt vacuum dryer, altogher six specifications were measured, including flour yield, angle of repose, bulk density, percentage of moisture absorption and the active ingredient contents of forsythiaside A and chlorogenic acid; all those were investigated in spray drying technology parallel. Results The belt drying vacuum technology solved effectively moisture absorption and agglomeration of Lianhua Qingwen capsule, without loss of the active ingredient contents of forsythiaside A and chlorogenic acid. Conclusion Belt vacuum drying technology was suitable for the drying process of industrialization of Lianhua Qingwen capsule.
