Abstract: Objective To explore the tranquilizing effects of Imaginary Working by investigating the timing characteristics of the alpha band electroencephalogram(EEG) power. Methods College students as volunteer subjects were recruited and randomly divided into experimental group and control group at 1∶1 ratio. The experimental group received Imaginary Working intervention while the control group did not receive any intervention. After Imaginary Working intervention training, the alpha band absolute power of two groups was measured to compare and analyze. Results Alpha band EEG absolute power in the two groups were statistically different at all time periods (P<0.05). The absolute power value of the experimental group was higher than the control group, appeared more steady than the control group at each time point. Conclusion Imaginary Working can induce the alpha band rhythm response and maintain the effects with time as a subsequent effect. Imaginary Working presents with an apparent tranquilizing effect.
