Abstract: By searching literature related to medicinal vesiculation (MV), we consider that MV therapy dated back to Song Dynasty, with the history of about 1 000 years of clinical practice. Although MV has been widely adopted in China with satisfactory efficacy, its clinical efficacy lacks the Objective support from evidence-based medicine (EBM) due to the less study cases, poor study quality and foundation, leading to serious restriction of development and spread of MV therapy. This paper strives to push MV academic study based on EBM combined with current status. We try to discuss the following problems: syndrome differentiation and treatment of MV, establishment of treatment scheme of MV, comparison of clinical practice of dog-days acupuncture and dog-days MV, comparison of clinical efficacy of MV and acupoint application, disease spectrum of MV, correlation of dog-days MV and Sanjiu MV.
