Study on chemical constituents in Cordyceps hawkesii by UPLC-Q-TOF-MS*

Abstract: Objective To analyze and identify the main chemical constituents of extract from Cordyceps hawkesii by using method of ultra performance liquid chromatography-qudropole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS). Methods UPLC condition was as the following: Agilent SB-C18 (50 mm×4.6 mm, 1.8 μm) column with gradient elution consisting of 0.1 % formic acid in water and acetonitrile, at a flow rate of 0.25 mL/min. The column temperature was set at 30℃. MS analysis was based on information associated mode (IDA) that positive and negative ions were respectively collected. Results Mass spectrometry combined with “Formula Finder” of PeakView software and database, a total 26 compounds were identified as alkaloids, glycosides, nucleosides, and amino acids. 9 of them had never been reported in Cordyceps hawkesii, and 2 of them were known. Conclusion The method is accurate, reliable and efficient for rapid identification of compounds in Cordyceps hawkesii. The results provide references for the development and utilization of Cordyceps hawkesii, as well as finding out its pharmacodynamic material basis.
