Abstract: In line with Uniform Requirement for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals issued by International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), The editorial department of Journal of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has taken the lead in standardizing the application of statistics in the field of periodicals of traditional Chinese medicine since 2008. After more than 10 years of editorial practice, standardization has been formed in the application and expression of statistical methods and the report of statistical results. Common t-test, one-way variance test, chi-square test and repeated test of the variance analysis of quantitative data and Kruskal-Wallis H rank sum test are illustrated with examples. The most common errors are corrected, which provides a standard for ensuring the scientific nature of papers and the editing quality of periodicals.
