Discussion of attributes and treatment of "dryness" based on seven chapters on Yunqi
as an important concept of etiology and pathogenesis in traditional Chinese medicine
is generally believed to be caused by hot injury and body fluid drying up. The understanding of "dryness due to yang decline" is still insufficient
and the clinical treatments are also limited. The description of dryness in the seven chapters on Yunqi accounts for nearly 90% of the whole
Huangdi Neijing;
whether dryness is matched with cold-jin or the climate
phenology and diseases affected by dryness are characterized by Yang decline
and whether dryness syndrome is treated with drugs with warm or hot properties
all treatment strategies are based on the gradual decline of Yang qi as the fundamental attribute of dryness. By systematically elucidating the close relationship between dryness and coolness and exploring the treatment of dryness due to yang decline by other researchers
we hope to provide a theoretical basis for subsequent research on dryness.
