“The latest research reveals the clinical survival characteristics of patients with high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (HR-MDS), providing important references for clinical prognosis evaluation. By analyzing clinical data of 200 patients, it was found that high-risk and extremely high-risk, hemoglobin (Hb) levels, platelet (PLT) counts, and myelodysplastic syndrome to leukemia (MDS-AML) status have significant effects on progression free survival (PFS). The study also found that patients receiving arsenic containing traditional Chinese medicine compound combined with demethylating drugs (HMAs) treatment had a PLT count of ≥ 50 × 10 ^ 9/L and a chemotherapy course of ≥ 5, which were significantly associated with prolonged PFS; Patients receiving arsenic containing traditional Chinese medicine compound combined with androgen therapy showed a significant correlation between Hb ≥ 80 g/L, PLT count ≥ 50 × 10 ^ 9/L, and non MDS-AML status with prolonged PFS. This discovery provides a scientific basis for personalized treatment of HR-MDS patients.”
