    • Three-year survival status of 664 older patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and the prognostic factors of traditional Chinese and western medicine

    • A study conducted by Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine revealed that the 3-year survival rate of elderly patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is low. Age, smoking history, comorbidity index, arterial oxygen pressure, brain natriuretic peptide levels, pulmonary heart disease, respiratory failure, and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome elements are independent risk factors for death, while regular use of bronchodilators is a protective factor.
