NIH mice were used in this experiment. 3H-Gardenoside used as a tracer agent (1mci/mice) was injected into the caudal vein of mice and the tracing time was from 1 minute to 60 minute. The mice were divided into 4 groups according to the different tracing time. Techniques of the whole-hodyautoradiograp by and image analysis were used. Quantitative dynamic distribution of 3H-Gardenoside
content of the tracer agent in 20 organs and tissues in each mouse were observed. The relationship between above items and the Channel Tropism of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis were discussed. The results showed that tracer radiation were significantly different among the various tracing time in same organs and tissues and among the various organs and tissues in same tracing time (P< 0. 01 ).Possessed the character of selective distributed of 3H-Gardenoside. It was mostly distributed in the kidney
bladder
lung
gall bladder
liver
adrenal gland
small intestine
large intestine
heart
and stomach. The distribution of3H-Gardenoside was in accordance with the Channel Tropism of Paeoniflorin. This result provides for the first time a morphological basis for the study of the Channel Tropism theory of this herb.
